Nutritional foods for better health and better quality of life
Dr. Ong-ard’s health foods story was born in 2018 when a group of researchers led by Dr. Ong-ard Praepanichchai in the field of food innovation became alarmed at the growing number of unhealthy, unwell people in society. There are many factors responsible for this situation including unhealthy eating habits and lack of exercise. Also, as people live longer, many countries now find they have a larger “aging society”, which causes even more problems. The more elderly people there are results in the more patients being created, because many illnesses develop along with age.
As a way to alleviate these problems the 1A Food company was established. The objective was a simple one: to provide better health and better quality of life for older people and their family members by producing healthy, nutritious food under the brandname Dr. Ong-ard.
1A Food received support from the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) through its Innovation and Technology Assistance Program (ITAP). NSTDA helped provide R&D experts to develop formulas for our soups and nutritional beverages. The R&D experts identified by NSTDA were the Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon and CDIP (Thailand) Company.
There are two product lines, namely:
- Soups such as chicken breast soup with chia seeds, salmon soup with chia seeds
- Powdered beverages that are specially created for the elderly, including those with kidney disease or diabetes
Both the soups and powdered beverages are easy to prepare and not only provide important nutritional value, but are delicious as well. These are designed to nourish healthy wellbeing every day, as well as providing helpful recuperative nutrition when they are ill. Apart from the elderly, Dr Ong-ard products are also of benefit to those middle age, who want to ensure they prepare themselves fully for a longer, healthier and more active older age.
